We are absolutely delighted to share some exciting news—The Crab & Lobster Fish Shack has been named among the Top Three finalists in the Newcomer Restaurant category at the prestigious National Fish & Chip Awards 2026.
For a restaurant that only opened its doors in June 2025, this recognition marks an incredible milestone in what has been a truly special journey so far.
From Local Favourite to National Finalist
To be shortlisted at this level is no small achievement. The National Fish & Chip Awards are widely regarded as the benchmark for excellence in the industry, with businesses assessed across a range of criteria including product quality, sustainability, operational standards, customer service, and industry knowledge.
After progressing from an initial Top Five shortlist, we are incredibly proud to have secured a place in the final three—placing us among the very best new fish and chip restaurants in the UK.
Family Journey Built on Passion
Run by father and son team Bryan and Jack Coghill, alongside the wider family, the Shack has always been about more than just great fish and chips. From day one, our focus has been simple:

- Create a welcoming, relaxed experience for every guest
To see that approach recognised on a national stage is something we are immensely proud of.
As Jack said: “We couldn’t be prouder of what we have achieved in such a short time… to know we are heading to London is amazing.”
Heading to London for the Final
The awards ceremony will take place on 25th February 2026 at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London, where the winners will be announced.
Just being there as finalists is an honour—but you can be sure we’ll be giving it everything.
